Ronchi Ruling is a pattern that arranges parallel lines regularly. The line width forming the parallel line is equal to the width of the space. "Unit / mm" is used to express the spatial frequency per 1 mm, and 600 lines / mm are displayed on the right edge of the board. The unit of book / mm shows quantity of sets per mm, with one set being the pair of one white and one black line with the same width.
It can be used for various applications such as Ronchi Ruling use, evaluation of limit resolution of imaging optical system, evaluation of distortion, confirmation of diffraction phenomena.
Since Ronchi Ruling is a product manufactured for the purpose mainly used for the aforementioned subjective evaluation use, the frequency accuracy of the pattern is somewhat rough as a pattern used for calibration, and for that purpose we do not recommend it in general.
